Our meetings start at 7.30 pm with a short “business” session which is usually followed by a speaker. We have speakers on a wide variety of subjects to ensure there is something of interest to all our members. We conclude the meetings with refreshments and time for members to socialise. Our May meeting is a “Members’ Meeting” and the entertainment is provided by some of the members. This can be anything from a talk or a craft demonstration to a musical quiz. At our October meeting we have the AGM at which members elect the committee for the forthcoming year; this is normally followed by refreshments prepared by the committee to a particular theme, such as Spanish tapas, Scottish dishes, or Caribbean food. At the December meeting we hold our Christmas party. In addition to the monthly meetings, we organise regular walks, garden visits, theatre visits, lunches and dinners, amongst other things. We are affiliated to the National Federation of Women’s Institutes and the Northamptonshire County Federation of Women’s Institutes.
